FOR all the money swilling around in Chelsea's coffers, the one commodity they cannot buy is class. Everybody in football knew that Avram Grant was no Special One. He was merely a decent and dignified man who deserved to be treated with a modicum of respect.
But Chelsea don't seem to do respect — they do only heartless, cruel and vicious. Grant was thrown into the middle of a crisis when Jose Mourinho was axed. But not only did he steady the ship, he took Chelsea to within a penalty kick of the Champions League crown. So how is he rewarded? With betrayal and a knife in the back. The sickening thing is, we expected nothing less from Chelsea.

Axed Grant in fury at 'ruthless' Chelsea-I'VE BEEN BETRAYED

SACKED Chelsea boss Avram Grant launched an astonishing attack on owner Roman Abramovich and blasted: "I feel completely betrayed." Grant walked into the Russian's six-storey London mansion to be told he was axed. The meeting lasted just under three hours.
Frank Rijkaard is now hot favourite to replace him.
And Grant told friends in Israel: "I took on the job at a very difficult time but Chelsea have pulled the plug on me. I feel very hurt, upset and angry." Abramovich offered Grant the position of Director of Football at Stamford Bridge but he turned down the £2million-a-year job.
A pal of Grant in Israel revealed: "Avram said he doesn't trust them any more.
"It was not a friendly meeting at all. Avram does not want anything to do with the club now. He didn't even want to discuss his compensation, which will run into millions. He told Roman to speak to his lawyer."
Another pal in Israel said: "Avram thinks Chelsea are totally ruthless."
CRUSHED John Terry broke his silence on his penalty miss and confessed: "It will haunt me forever." The tearful Chelsea skipper made a public apology to fans and said: "I feel I have let everyone down and that hurts me more than anything. I have relived that moment every minute since it happened. He said: "I am not ashamed about crying. This is a trophy I have tried so hard to win year after year and it was just an uncontrollable reaction. I wear my heart on my sleeve, everybody knows that."

Inter Milan are closing in on the signing of Frank Lampard, according to the Corriere dello Sport.
Chelsea assistant boss Henk ten Cate has admitted that the club have been hit hard by their Champions League penalty shoot-out defeat to Manchester United. He went on to reveal that Terry was not originally supposed to be one of the first five penalty takers, but was promoted up the order because of Didier Drogba's expulsion
Lubos Michel enhanced his reputation as the best referee in the world with a performance of common sense and strength when it mattered. Chelsea lost their discipline and it cost them the game. Didier Drogba had to be sent off. Any player who raises a hand deserves to be dismissed. He would have taken a penalty, too - and would probably have scored. His red card cost his team a penalty taker in a shoot-out.

I am stuck in an emotional wasteland, but the escapism seemed important to me. I used to ask myself 'Who am I?' A feeling of being misunderstood niggled away at me, but I had no way of communicating that troubled part of me to anyone. Never before had the numbing effect been so needed as i wallowed in my misery.I felt as if my life was over. Depressed, confused and crying all the time, I sank into it more and more. I know I'm no hero . I have lost much of what I hold dear. I guess I deserve it. But I hope one day I can win it back. All I really want is to be happy and try to help those I love find happiness.

Barcelona captain Carles Puyol has admitted he is upset his team will have to give arch-rivals Real Madrid the guard of honour as they run on to the pitch at the Bernabeu on Wednesday in recognition of their victory in the Spanish league.
"As a Barca fan I don't like the having to clap them on to the pitch, but as a sportsman you have to recognise the champions and we will do that," the Barca defender said.
"We didn't do things right this season, we weren't consistent and Real Madrid are deserving champions."
